“My experience working at Oppenheimer & Co. has been nothing short of amazing. Working with a team of brokers as knowledgeable as the ones I was fortunate enough to work with gave me the skills I needed to succeed. My initial mind set prior to working there was to absorb as much information as possible and ask questions frequently (when appropriate). I was placed with a team of 3 brokers in the private client asset management division. My day to day tasks were comprised of putting in stock orders, talking with clients about investment opportunities, researching investments ideas and wiring capital to various accounts and writing checks. Every week would consist of at least 3 lunch meetings with all of the Stock Brokers in the private client division and various companies would present their products and services for potential investment opportunities for our respective clients.
Recently I was offered an opportunity in the Cash Management/Fixed Division which is one of the largest divisions in Oppenheimer with over $5 billion in assets. My role in that division is a little bit different from what I have been doing, however, will involve stock trading and researching potential companies with cash reserves interested in investing their capital. My career is looking bright and as I focus on my career for the time being, come January it’s back to school mode as I prepare for Grad school at NYU Stern….Can’t wait!”
